Caro-Kann Defence openings

1.e4 c6 — the French Defence's structure without the bad bishop. Black plays …d5 with the c-pawn already supporting it, develops the light-squared bishop outside the pawn chain, and accepts slightly less space in exchange for a structure that almost never collapses. It is the defence of choice for players happy to reach a good endgame.
